These buildings have no relation with the outside spaces of the plaza and mask the corruption that is hidden behind their colonial facades. The colonial-era facades of the government buildings that surround Plaza de la Constitución in Tlaxcala, Mexico express the power of the state while also serving as physical representation of the country’s colonial history. Historically, the façade has been used as a tool to express politics. New Facade Politics is an investigation of the facade as a site of power.
